Praise be to Allaah.
‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Jesus the son of Mary – peace be upon him) are those indicated by the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of our Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
We believe that ‘Eesa (peace be upon him) was one of the slaves of Allaah, and one of His noble Messengers. Allaah sent him to the Children of Israel to call them to believe in Allaah alone and worship Him alone.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And (remember) when ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: ‘O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allaah unto you, confirming the Tawraat [(Torah) which came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.’ But when he (Ahmad, i.e. Muhammad) came to them with clear proofs, they said: ‘This is plain magic’”
[al-Saff 61:6]
“But the Messiah [‘Eesa (Jesus)] said: ‘O Children of Israel! Worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord.’ Verily, whosoever sets up partners (in worship) with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden Paradise to him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers”
[al-Maa’idah 5:72]
‘Eesa was not a god or the son of God as the Christians claim.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Surely, they have disbelieved who say: ‘Allaah is the Messiah [‘Eesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary).’”
[al-Maa’idah 5:72]
“And the Jews say: ‘Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allaah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allaah. That is their saying with their mouths, resembling the saying of those who disbelieved aforetime. Allaah’s Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!”
[al-Tawbah 9:30]
The first words that ‘Eesa spoke when Allaah caused him to speak when he was in the cradle were (interpretation of the meaning):
“He [‘Eesa (Jesus)] said: ‘Verily, I am a slave of Allaah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet’”
[Maryam 19:30]
We believe that Allaah supported him with miracles that proved he was speaking the truth.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“(Remember) when Allaah will say (on the Day of Resurrection). ‘O ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Remember My Favour to you and to your mother when I supported you with Rooh‑ul‑Qudus [Jibreel (Gabriel)] so that you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and when I taught you writing, Al‑Hikmah (the power of understanding), the Tawraat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel); and when you made out of the clay, a figure like that of a bird, by My Permission, and you breathed into it, and it became a bird by My Permission, and you healed those born blind, and the lepers by My Permission, and when you brought forth the dead by My Permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from you (when they resolved to kill you) as you came unto them with clear proofs, and the disbelievers among them said: This is nothing but evident magic’”
[al-Maa'idah 5:110]
Praise be to Allaah.

[al-Maa'idah 5:110]
We believe that ‘Eesa was born from the Virgin Maryam with no father, and that is not impossible for Allaah Who, when He wills a thing, says “Be!” and it is.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, the likeness of ‘Eesa (Jesus) before Allaah is the likeness of Adam. He created him from dust, then (He) said to him: ‘Be!’ — and he was”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:59]
“(Remember) when the angels said: ‘O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allaah gives you the glad tidings of a Word [‘Be!’ — and he was! i.e. ‘Eesa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)] from Him, his name will be the Messiah ‘Eesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), held in honour in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one of those who are near to Allaah.”
He will speak to the people, in the cradle and in manhood, and he will be one of the righteous.’
She said: ‘O my Lord! How shall I have a son when no man has touched me.’ He said: ‘So (it will be) for Allaah creates what He wills. When He has decreed something, He says to it only: “Be!” and it is’”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:45-47]
We believe that he permitted to the Jews some of the things that had been forbidden to them.
Allaah tells us that ‘Eesa said to the Children of Israel (interpretation of the meaning):
“And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Tawraat (Torah), and to make lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a proof from your Lord. So fear Allaah and obey me”
[Aal ‘Imraan 3:50]
We believe that he did not die and his enemies the Jews did not kill him, rather Allaah saved him from them and raised him up to heaven alive.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And because of their (Jews) disbelief and uttering against Maryam (Mary) a grave false charge (that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse);
And because of their saying (in boast), ‘We killed Messiah ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), the Messenger of Allaah,’ — but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but it appeared so to them the resemblance of ‘Eesa (Jesus) was put over another man (and they killed that man)], and those who differ therein are full of doubts. They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing but conjecture. For surely; they killed him not [i.e. ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)]:
But Allaah raised him [‘Eesa (Jesus)] up (with his body and soul) unto Himself (and he is in the heavens). And Allaah is Ever All‑Powerful, All‑Wise”
[al-Nisa’ 4:156-158]
We believe that he told his followers of the coming of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
We believe that he will come back down at the end of time, and will disprove the claim of his enemies the Jews that they killed him, and will disprove the claim of the Christians that he is God or the son of God, and he will not accept anything from them but Islam.
Al-Bukhaari (2222) and Muslim (155) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, soon the son of Maryam will descend among you [according to another report: the Hour will not begin until the son of Maryam descends among you] as a just judge. He will break the cross, kill the pigs and abolish the jizyah, and money will become abundant until no one will accept it.”
“Soon” means it will inevitably happen quickly.
“will descend among you” means among this ummah.
“A just judge” means that he will come down and rule according to this sharee’ah (divine law), and that this sharee’ah will remain and not be abrogated, rather ‘Eesa will be one of the rulers of this ummah.
“He will break the cross and kill the pigs” means he will declare as false the religion of the Christians by breaking the cross in a real sense and proving false the Christians’ claims and veneration of the cross.
“and he will abolish the jizyah”:
al-Nawawi said:
The correct view concerning this is that he will not accept it, and he will not accept anything from the kaafirs disbelievers but Islam. If any of them offer the jizyah that will not make him stop fighting them. Rather he will not accept anything but Islam or death. This is the view of Imam Abu Sulaymaan al-Khattaabi and other scholars (may Allaah have mercy on them).
End quote.
“Money will become abundant” – the reason for this abundance will be the descent of blessings and the spread of goodness because of justice and the absence of oppression or wrongdoing. At that time the earth will bring forth its treasures, and desire to keep money will decrease because they will know that that Hour is at hand.
Then he will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral prayer for him and bury him.
Ahmad (9349) narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I am the closest of people to ‘Eesa ibn Maryam because there was no Prophet between him and me…” Then he mentioned his descent at the end of time. Then he said: “And he will remain for as long as Allaah wills he should remain, then he will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral prayer for him and bury him.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah (2182).
We believe that he will disavow himself on the Day of Resurrection of the claims that he was a god.
Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And (remember) when Allaah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): 'O ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: Worship me and my mother as two gods besides Allaah?’ He will say: ‘Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner‑self though I do not know what is in Yours; truly, You, only You, are the All‑Knower of all that is hidden (and unseen).
Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allaah) did command me to say: Worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them; and You are a Witness to all things’”
[al-Maa'idah 5:116-117]
“ ‘Never did I say to them aught except what You (Allaah) did command me to say: Worship Allaah, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them; and You are a Witness to all things’”
[al-Maa'idah 5:116-117]
This is what the Muslims believe about the Messiah ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him).
Al-Bukhaari (3435) and Muslim (28) narrated from ‘Ubaadah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever bears witness that there is no god but Allaah alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger, and that ‘Eesa is His slave and Messenger, a word which Allaah bestowed upon Maryam and a spirit created by Him, and that Paradise is real, and Hell is real, Allaah will admit him through whichever of the eight gates of Paradise he wishes.”
We ask Allaah to make us steadfast in faith and to cause us to die as believers.
May Allaah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad.

ALL RELIGIONS TEACH PEOPLE TO BE RIGHTEOUS, THEN WHY FOLLOW ONLY ONLY ISLAM?

1.
Major difference between Islam and most other religions
All religions basically exhort humankind to be righteous andeschew evil. But Islam goes beyond that. It guides us towards practical ways ofachieving righteousness and eliminating evil from our individual and collectivelives. Islam takes into account human nature and the complexities of humansociety. Islam is guidance from the Creator Himself. Therefore, Islam is alsocalled the Deen-ul- Fitrah (the natural religion of Man).
2.
Example - Islam commands us to shun robbery and also prescribesmethod of eliminating robbery
a. Islam prescribes method of eliminating robbery
All major religions teach that theft is an evil act. Islamteaches the same. So what is the difference between Islam and the otherreligions? The difference lies in the fact that Islam, besides teaching thatrobbing is evil, shows a practical way of creating a social structure in whichpeople will not rob.
b. Islam prescribes Zakaat
Islam prescribes a system of Zakaat (obligatory annual charity).Islamic law prescribes that every person who has a saving that exceeds the nisaablevel i.e. more than 85 grams of gold, should give 2.5% of that saving everylunar year in charity. If every rich person in the world gives Zakaat sincerely, poverty will be eradicated from this world. Not a single human being would dieof hunger.
c. Chopping-off the hand aspunishment for robbery
Islam prescribes chopping-off thehand of the convicted robber. The Glorious Qur’an says in Surah Al Maidah:
“As to the thief, male or female, cut off his or her hands: apunishment by way of example, from Allah, for their crime: and Allah is Exaltedin power, full of wisdom.”
[ Al-Qur’an 5:38]
The non-Muslim may say, “Chopping-offthe hand in this 20th century. Islam is a barbaric and ruthless religion!”
d. Results achieved when Islamic Shari’ahis Implemented
America is supposed to be one of the most advanced countries inthe world. Unfortunately it also has one of the highest rates of crime, theft, and robbery. Suppose the Islamic shari’ah is implemented in America i.e. everyrich person gives Zakaat ( 2.5% of his savings in charity above 85 grams ofgold every lunar year), and every convicted robber has his or her handchopped-off as a punishment. Will the rate of theft and robbery in Americaincrease, remain same or decrease? Naturally it will decrease. Moreover, theexistence of such a stringent law would discourage many a potential robber.
I agree that the amount of theft that takes place in the worldtoday is so tremendous that if you chop-off the hand of all the thieves, therewill be tens of thousands of people whose hands will be chopped off. The pointhere is that the moment you implement this law the rate of theft will declineimmediately. The potential robber would give it a serious thought beforejeopardizing his limbs. The mere thought of the punishment itself willdiscourage majority of the robbers. There will barely be a few who would rob.Hence only a few persons’ hand would be chopped-off but millions
would livepeacefully without fear of being robbed.
Islamic Shari’ah is therefore practical, and achieves results.
3.
Example — Islam prohibitsthe molestation and rape of women. It enjoins hijaab and prescribes capitalpunishment for a convicted rapist
a. Islam prescribes method of eliminating molestation and rape
All the major religions declare themolestation and rape of women as grave sins. Islam teaches the same. What thenis the difference between Islam and the other religions? The difference lies inthe fact that Islam does not merely preach respect for women, or abhormolestation and rape as serious crimes, but also gives clear guidance as to howsociety can eliminate such crimes.
b. Hijaab for men
Islam has a system of hijaab. TheGlorious Qur’an first mentions hijaab for the men and then for the women. Hijaab
for the men is mentioned in thefollowing verse:
“Say to the believing men that they should lower their gaze andguard their modesty: that will make for greater purity for them: and Allah iswell acquainted with all that they do.”
[Al Qur’an 24:30]
The moment a man looks at a woman andif any brazen or unashamed thought comes to his mind, he should lower his gaze.
c. Hijaab for women
Hijaab for women is mentioned in thefollowing verse:
“And say to the believing women that they should lower theirgaze and guard their modesty; that they should not display their beauty andornaments except what (must ordinarily) appear thereof; that they should drawtheir veils over their bosoms and not display their beauty except to theirhusbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons....”
[Al Qur’an 24:31]
The extent of hijaab for a woman is that her complete bodyshould be covered. The only part that can be seen, are the face and the hands uptothe wrists. If they wish to cover, they can even cover these parts of the body. However some Islamic scholars insist that even the face should be covered.
d. Hijaab prevents molestation
The reason why Allah has prescribed Hijaab for the women is givenin the Qur’an in the folowing verse of Surah Al Ahzaab:
“O Prophet! Tell thy wives and daughters, and the believingwomen, that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (whenabroad): that is most convenient, that they should be known (as such) and notmolested. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, most Merciful.”
[Al Qur’an 33:59]
The Qur’an says that Hijaab has been prescribed for the women sothat they are recognized as modest women and this would prevent them from beingmolested.
e. Example of twin sisters
Suppose two sisters who are twins andwho are equally beautiful, walk down a street. One of them is wearing theIslamic Hijaab i.e. the complete body is covered except for the face and thehands upto the wrists, and the other twin is wearing a miniskirt or shorts.Around the corner there is a hooligan who is waiting for an opportunity totease a girl. Whom will he tease? The girl wearing the Islamic hijaab or thegirl wearing the miniskirt or shorts? Dresses that expose more than theyconceal, are an indirect temptation to the opposite sex for teasing, molestation and rape. The Qur’an rightly says that the hijaab prevents womenfrom being molested.
f. Capital punishment for rapist
The Islamic shari’ah prescribes capital punishment for aconvicted rapist. The non- Muslim may be horrified at such a stringentpunishment in this age. Many accuse Islam of being ruthless and barbaric. Ihave asked a common question to hundreds of non-Muslim men. Suppose God-forbid,someone rapes your wife, your mother or your sister and you are made the judge. The rapist is brought in front of you. What punishment would you give him? Allof them said, “we would put him to death”. Some went to the extent of saying,“we would torture him to death”. If your wife or your mother is raped you wantthe rapist to be put to death. But if someone else’s wife or mother is raped, capital punishment is a barbaric law. Why the double standards?
g. USA has one of the highest rates of rape
The United States of America is supposed to be one of the mostadvanced countries of the world. An FBI report in the year 1990 says that1,02,555 cases of rape were reported. It further says that only 16% of thecases of rape are reported. Thus, in order to know the actual number of rapethat took place in 1990, the reported figure should be multiplied by 6.25. Weget a total of 6,40,968 rape cases that took place in the year 1990. If thetotal is divided by 365 the number of days in a year, we get an average of1,756 rape incidents everyday.
Later another report said that anaverage of 1900 cases of rape are committed in USA every day. According toNational Crime Victimization Survey, Bureau of Justice Statistics (USDepartment. of Justice) in 1996 alone 3,07,000 cases of rape were reported.Only 31% of the actual cases of rape were reported. Thus, 3,07,000 x 3.226 =9,90,322 rapes took place in 1996. That is, an average of 2,713 cases of rapetook place everyday in America in 1996. Every 32 seconds one rape is takingplace in America. Maybe American rapists got bolder. The FBI report of 1990continues and says that out of the rape cases that were reported only 10% ofthe rapists were arrested, that is only 1.6% of the actual rapes committed. Outof those arrested, 50% were let free before the trial. This would mean thatonly 0.8% of the rapists faced a trial. In other words if a person commits 125rapes the chances that he will get a punishment for rape is only once. Manywould consider this a good gamble. And the report says that of those people whofaced trial 50% received sentences of less than a year’s imprisonment, thoughthe American law says rape carries a seven-year sentence of imprisonment. For arapist, the judge is lenient to first time offenders. Imagine a person commits125 rapes and the chances of being convicted is only once, and 50% of the timethe judge will grant leniency and give a sentence of less than a year!
h. Results achieved when Islamic Shari’ahis Implemented
Suppose the Islamic shari’ah isimplemented in America. Whenever a man looks at a woman and if any brazen orunashamed thought comes to his mind, he lowers his gaze. Every woman wears theIslamic hijaab, that is the complete body is covered except the face and thehands upto the wrists. After this if any man commits rape, he gets capitalpunishment. The question is, will the rate of rape in America increase, will itremain the same or will it decrease? Naturally it will decrease. Islamic Shari’ahgets results.
4.
Islam has practical solutions for the problems of humankind
Islam is the best way of life because its teachings are notdoctrinaire rhetoric but practical solutions for the problems of humankind.Islam achieves results both at the individual and collective levels. Islam isthe best way of life because it is a practical and universal religion notconfined to any ethnic group or nationality.

Peace brother alyzeedi I live in Britain and I work in Aramco and I want to know the reason for the prohibition on pork because friends asked me about it?.

A Christian is asking about the reason for the prohibition on pork
Why does Islam forbid pork, when the pig is one of the creations of God?.
Praise be to Allaah. Firstly:
Our Lord has forbidden eating pork in definitive terms. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “Say (O Muhammad): I find not in that which has been revealed to me anything forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be Maytah (a dead animal) or blood poured forth (by slaughtering or the like), or the flesh of swine (pork); for that surely, is impure or impious (unlawful) meat (of an animal) which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allaah (or has been slaughtered for idols, or on which Allaah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering)” [al-An’aam 6:145]
By the mercy of Allaah and His kindness towards us, Allaah has permitted us to eat all good things, and He has not forbidden anything but those that are impure. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “…he allows them as lawful At‑Tayyibaat (i.e. all good and lawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods), and prohibits them as unlawful Al‑Khabaa’ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons and foods)” [al-A’raaf 7:157] We do not doubt for an instant that the pig is a dirty and filthy animal, and that eating it is harmful to man. Moreover it lives on dirt and filth, and it is something that is off-putting to those of a sound nature who refuse to touch it, because eating it is either a cause or a sign of a person’s oddness. Secondly: With regard to the physical harm caused by eating pork, modern science has proved a number of things, such as the following: Pork is regarded as one of the kinds of meat that contain the most cholesterol, an increase of which in the bloodstream leads to an increased likelihood of blocked arteries. The fatty acids in pork are also of an unusual formation, when compared with the fatty acids in other types of food, which makes them more easily absorbed by the body, thus increasing cholesterol levels. Pork meat and pork fat contribute to the spread of cancers of the colon, rectum, prostate and blood. Pork meat and pork fat contribute to obesity and related diseases that are difficult to treat. Eating pork leads to scabies, allergies and stomach ulcers. Eating pork causes lung infections which result from tapeworms, lungworms and microbial infections of the lungs. The most serious danger of eating pork is that pork contains tapeworms which may grow to a length of 2-3 meters. The growth of the eggs of these worms in the human body may lead to insanity and hysteria if they grow in the area of the brain. If they grow in the region of the heart that may lead to high blood pressure and heart attacks. Another kind of worm that is to be found in pork is the trichinosis worm that cannot be killed by cooking, the growth of which in the body may lead to paralysis and skin rashes. The doctors have confirmed that tapeworm disease is regarded as one of the serious diseases that may result from eating pork. It may develop in the small intestine and after several months may grow into a large worm whose body is composed of a thousand segments, with a length of 4-10 meters, which lives alone in the intestine of the infected person and part of it may appear when he defecates. When the pig swallows and ingests its eggs, they enter the tissues and muscles in the form of larvae sacs containing fluid and the head of the tapeworm. When a person eats infected pork, the larva turns into a complete worm in the intestine. These worms cause weakness and vitamin B12 deficiency, which leads to a specific type of anaemia, which may in turn cause nervous problems. In some cases the larvae may reach the brain, causing convulsions, increased pressure within the brain, epilepsy and even paralysis. Eating pork that is not thoroughly cooked may also lead to trichinosis (infestation with a hairlike nematode worm). When these parasites reach the small intestine, three to five days later many larvae appear which enter the intestine and reach the blood, from which they reach most of the tissues of the body. The larvae move to the muscles and form cysts there, and the patient suffers intense muscle pains. The disease may develop into infection of the cerebral membrane and brain, and infections of the heart muscle, lungs, kidneys and nerves. It may be a fatal disease in rare cases. It is well known that there are some diseases that are unique to humans and are nor shared with any other animals except pigs, such as rheumatism and joint pain. Allaah indeed spoke the truth when He said (interpretation of the meaning): “He has forbidden you only the Maytah (dead animals), and blood, and the flesh of swine, and that which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allaah (or has been slaughtered for idols, on which Allaah’s Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering). But if one is forced by necessity without willful disobedience nor transgressing due limits, then there is no sin on him. Truly, Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” [al-Baqarah 2:173] These are some of the harmful effects of eating pork. Perhaps after studying them you will not have any doubts that it is forbidden. We hope that this will be the first step in your being guided towards the true religion. So stop, research, look and think, objectively and fairly, seeking only to find out the truth and follow it. I ask Allaah to guide you to that which is best for you in this world and in the Hereafter. But even if we did not know about the harmful effects of eating pork, this would not change our belief that it is haraam in the slightest, or weaken our resolve to abstain from it. You know that when Adam (peace be upon him) was expelled from the Garden, it was because he ate from the tree from which Allaah forbade him to eat. We do not know anything about that tree, and Adam did not need to enquire into the reason why it was forbidden to eat from it. Rather it was sufficient for him, as it is sufficient for us and for every believer, to know that Allaah has forbidden it. Look at some of the harmful effects of eating pork; look at the research of the Fourth Annual Conference of Islamic Medicine, Kuwait edition, p. 731 ff; and al-Wiqaayah al-Sihhiyyah fi Daw’ al-Kitaab wa’l-Sunnah by Lu’lu’ah bint Saalih, p. 635 ff. But we ask you once again: Isn’t pork forbidden in the Old Testament which forms part of your Holy Book? “Do not eat any detestable thing. These are the animals you may eat… The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud, you are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses.” (Deuteronomy 14:3-8) See also Leviticus 11-1-8. We do not need to quote evidence that pork is forbidden for the Jews. If you have any doubt then ask people and they will tell you. But what we think we need to draw you attention to is some other things that are also mentioned in your Holy Book, this time in the New Testament which tells you that the rulings of the Torah still apply to you and cannot be changed. Does’t it say in the Bible that the Messiah said: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish them but to fulfil them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.” Matthew 5:17-18? With this text, we do not need to look for another ruling on pork in the New Testament, but we will add here another quotation which shows definitively that pork is impure: “A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside. The demons begged Jesus: ‘Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them.’ He gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs.” Mark 5:11-13 Perhaps you will say that this is abrogated, and that Peter said such and such and Paul said such and such…? This is changing the words of Allaah and abrogating the Torah and the words of the Messiah who confirmed to you that it would abide as long as heaven and earth remain. Can this be abrogated by the words of Paul or Peter? Let us assume that this is true and that the prohibition was indeed abrogated, but why are you criticizing this prohibition in Islam when it was prohibited for you at first? Thirdly: With regard to your saying that if eating it is forbidden, then why did Allaah create pigs? We do not think that you are serious, otherwise we would ask you: why did Allaah create such and such of other things that are harmful or repulsive? Rather we would ask you: why did Allaah create the Shaytaan? Is it not the prerogative of the Creator to command His slaves as He will, and to rule them as He will. No one can overturn His ruling or change His words. Is it not the duty of the created being, the slave, to say to his Lord, whenever He commands him to do something: “We hear and we obey”? You may enjoy its taste and want to eat it, and those around you may enjoy it, but doesn’t Paradise deserve some sacrifice on your part of that which your heart desires?.
